There are a variety of eligibility guidelines specific to each rebate. Please review all program requirements (PDF) before purchasing equipment or applying for rebates.
- The property must be serviced by CenterPoint Energy of Indiana, Inc. (“CenterPoint Energy”) under an active residential account.
- Thermostat must be installed in an existing home that uses CenterPoint Energy natural gas or electric as the primary heat source. Dual-fuel secondary heat source homes do not qualify unless you have both CenterPoint gas and electric.
- Newly constructed homes (less than 5 years old) do not qualify.
- Thermostat must be new and installed between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026. Limit of two per home (includes both “Wi-Fi” and “Smart”).
- Wi-Fi enabled thermostat: Must be Wi-Fi capable and connected to the internet without the use of an additional device to be eligible for a rebate.
- The application must be submitted within 60 calendar days of purchase to be eligible for a rebate.
- For new construction projects, builders must submit applications and supporting documentation within 60 days after building inspection and approval and/or issuance of a certificate of occupancy.
